Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program trains students to work in the rapidly growing healthcare industry. Boca Helping Hands partners with the Medical Institute of Palm Beach and South Florida Health Care Institute to provide students with hands-on lab training and clinical experience in a long-term care facility. Requirements:
+ Are 18 years of age or older
+ Have a High School Diploma or GED (in English)
+ Have a valid driver’s license and Social Security Card

+ Provide the last 3 months of bank statements to establish financial need
+ Have strong English language skills
+ Have reliable transportation
+ IRS Tax Return for the last filing year for all adult members of the household
+ Pass Level 1 background screening check

+ Provide record of vaccines, negative drug screen, TB test, and physical


Phase One: One week of Job Readiness taught virtually via Zoom. Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.


Phase Two: The Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program is approved by the Florida Department of Education and the Florida Board of Nursing. The program is 120 hours in total, of which 40 hours are completed self-paced using an online learning platform, 40 hours of consistent lab experience at the South Florida Healthcare Institute, and 40 hours are dedicated to a hands-on, supervised clinical practicum in a hospital or nursing setting. Upon completion, students will be prepared to take the Prometric Florida Nurse Aide Exam and become certified following successful completion of the exam.


Phase Three: Graduates work with BHH Job Mentors to update/create resumes, practice mock interviews, and learn how to navigate employment sites for open positions.


Please note that all phases are mandatory for successful completion of the program.
