The Drafting program is designed to provide experience in all aspects of this graphic language and teaches students how to use it to express their individual creative ideas and designs. Students will begin their training by learning drafting principles and techniques using traditional manual drafting boards and tools. Then they advance to the extensive use of techniques and technology utilized to prepare 2-D Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) work. Students will be able to see their efforts come to life as their projects are created in 3-D through the latest technology in rapid prototyping using a 3-D printer. Students will take the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) and the Architectural Certified Drafter (CD) credential exams. Start your career as Certified Drafter in approximately 14 months.
