The Medical Billing and Coding Program trains students to work in the rapidly growing healthcare industry. Boca Helping Hands partners with a Certified Professional Coder instructor to provide students with the tools needed to gain their Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certification.
Additional financial support offered on a case-by-case basis.
Requirements:
+ Are 18 years of age or older
+ Have a High School Diploma or GED (in English)
+ Have a valid driver’s license and Social Security Card
+ Provide the last 3 months of bank statements to establish financial need
+ Have strong English language skills
+ Have reliable transportation
+ Pass Level 1 background screening check
+ IRS Tax Return for the last filing year for all adult members of the household
Phase One: One week of Job Readiness taught virtually via Zoom. Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Phase Two: The Medical Billing and Coding Course is designed to prepare students to successfully obtain The Certified Professional Coder (CPC) License. The course is self-paced, and a live instructor taught class on one night a week from 6pm – 9pm for six months. Students are expected to immediately take the exam upon completion of the course and are provided with books, two exam vouchers and one year of the required AAPC membership. Additional support is provided through one-to-one coaching sessions with the instructor and course peers.
Phase Three: Graduates work with BHH Job Mentors to update/create resumes, practice mock interviews, and learn how to navigate employment sites for open positions.
Please note that all phases are mandatory for successful completion of the program.
