Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (HVAC/R)
The heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration industry is in constant need of skilled technicians to support a wide range of residential clients. Learn the technology, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of the HVAC/R systems. Through hands-on projects in lab and fieldwork settings, you'll also gain an understanding of electronics and basic electricity, indoor air quality, safety, care of tools, and other relevant issues and procedures.
This program is accredited by HVAC Excellence. During the program, students will earn:
• HVAC Excellence Employment Ready - Air Conditioning
• HVAC Excellence Employment Ready - Basic Charging and Refrigeration
• EPA 608 Universal
+ Are 18 years of age or older
+ Have a High School Diploma or GED (in English)
+ Have a valid driver’s license and Social Security Card
+ Have strong English language skills
+ Have reliable transportation
+ Have proof of a licensed and insured vehicle
+ Pass Level 1 background screening check
+ Refundable deposit required
Phase One: One week of Job Readiness taught virtually via Zoom. Monday through Friday from 9 am - 4 pm.
Phase Two: 750 hours of traditional instructor-led classroom lessons. Monday through Thursday from 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm at Palm Beach State College (4200 Congress Ave., Lake Worth, FL 33461). Phase two of the program must begin in August or in January.
Phase Three: Graduates work with BHH Job Mentors to update/create resumes, practice mock interviews, and learn how to navigate employment sites for open positions.
Please note that all phases are mandatory for the successful completion of the program.
