Help prepare food for distribution by packing and organizing items in our warehouse.

During this shift, volunteers may assist with:

• Packing pantry bags with food items
• Sorting and organizing donations
• Labeling and preparing items for distribution

No experience is needed, just a willingness to help and follow directions from staff.

Attire:

• Closed-toe shoes (sneakers required – no Crocs or slip-ins)
• Shirts with sleeves (no tank tops or crop tops)
• Shorts (mid-thigh or longer) or pants

Help prepare fresh food items for distribution to families in our community.

During this shift, volunteers may assist with:

• Sorting and organizing produce and meat items
• Packing food into bags for distribution
• Working as part of a team to keep the warehouse running smoothly

• Must be able to lift light items (up to 10 lbs)

Age Requirements:

• Minimum age 12 years old
• Ages 12–15 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian

• Shorts (mid-thigh or longer) or pants

Help distribute groceries to families in our community through our drive-through pantry program.

During this shift, volunteers may assist with:

• Placing pantry bags, produce, and meat into clients' vehicles
• Directing traffic to ensure a safe and smooth flow
• Working as part of a team to keep the distribution line moving efficiently

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role that directly supports families in need.

Requirements:

• Must be 16 years or older
• Must be comfortable working outdoors and on your feet
• Must be able to lift and carry 10–15 lbs
• Must be able to work in a team environment

Help welcome and check in clients as they arrive for food distribution. This role is part of our Pantry Program, which provides groceries to families in need.

What You'll Do:

• Greet clients with a friendly and welcoming attitude
• Use an iPad to check in registered clients as they move through the drive-thru line
• Assist with keeping the check-in process running smoothly

Requirements:

• Comfortable using an iPad (training provided)
• Friendly, patient, and comfortable interacting with people
• Must be at least 16 years old

Commitment:

As a Kitchen volunteer, you'll work alongside our kitchen staff to support Boca Helping Hands' Hot Meals Program, which serves thousands of meals each year.

Volunteer responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients.
• Helping prepare and cook meals under the direction of our Kitchen Lead.
• Washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and maintaining a clean work area as assigned.
• Following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Working as part of a team to keep the kitchen running efficiently.
• Assisting with kitchen cleanup before the end of the shift.

Requirements:

• Volunteers should be comfortable working in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Basic kitchen skills, such as chopping, slicing, and food preparation, are helpful.
• Must be able to follow directions from the Kitchen Lead and work as part of a team.

Dress Code:

• Closed-toe sneakers or tennis shoes are required (no Crocs, sandals, or slip-on shoes).
• T-shirts must have sleeves (no tank tops or crop tops).
• Long pants are required.

Deliver meals and groceries to homebound clients in the Boca Raton area using your personal vehicle. This role directly supports individuals who are unable to visit our food center.

What you'll do:

• Pick up prepared meals and/or non-perishable food from our East Boca Food Center
• Deliver to multiple clients along a pre-planned route
• Provide a friendly and respectful experience for clients

Deliveries begin at 10:30 AM (pickup at 10:15 AM) and typically take about 2 hours to complete. Routes may include 12–15 deliveries.

Requirements:

• Must be 21 years or older
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
• Must carry minimum auto insurance of $100,000 / $300,000
• Must pass a driving record and background check
• Must be comfortable completing a delivery route independently

Help Boca Helping Hands rescue food that would otherwise go to waste! Food Recovery Drivers pick up donated food from local businesses and community partners and transport it to our East Boca Food Center, where it is sorted and distributed to individuals and families in need.

Boca Helping Hands provides the vehicle for all scheduled routes.

Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid driver's license required
• Must pass a driving record and background check
• Able to comfortably lift and carry at least 10 pounds
• Friendly, reliable, and comfortable interacting with community partners

Important:

This is a specialized volunteer position and cannot be scheduled through the volunteer portal. Commitment to a specific day(s) of each week is required.

During this role, volunteers may assist with:

• Data entry and basic computer tasks
• Organizing files and documents
• General office support for staff and department leads

This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in gaining office or nonprofit experience.

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be detail-oriented, organized, and punctual
• Basic computer skills required (Microsoft Office/Excel preferred)
• Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds
