  • Administrative

    Office Assistant 

    Assist BHH administration with office management. Responsibilities vary but focus on supporting development, marketing, events, PR, and office organization.


    Requirements:

    • Detail Oriented
    • Proficient understanding of Windows
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills needed
    • Comfortable sitting for extended periods of time
    • Intermediate computer skills needed
    • Commitment to a specific day(s) of each week is required. Monday through Friday between 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.

    Pantry Bag Drive-Thru Check-In

    Check-in and register clients for our Pantry Bag program. 


    Requirements:

    • Face-to-face with clients
    • Comfortable being outdoors (rain or shine!)
    • Considerable mobility needed
    • Must be comfortable using and training on an iPad
    • Attire - T-shirt with sleeves (no crop tops), long pants, closed-toe shoes (sneakers/tennis shoes preferred), hair pulled back
    • Must be able to pass background check
    • Commitment to a specific day(s) of each week is required. Monday through Saturday from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm and Thursdays 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm.


    Pantry Bag Drive-Thru Distribution

    Distribute pantry bags into client vehicles.

    • Comfortable being outdoors (rain or shine!)
    • Considerable mobility needed
    • Attire - T-shirt with sleeves (no crop tops), long pants, closed-toe shoes (sneakers/tennis shoes preferred), hair pulled back

  • Front Desk

    Front Desk Volunteer

    The front desk volunteer works under the supervision of the Front Desk Coordinator. The front desk is the hub of Boca Helping Hands. It is the first point of contact and first impression for all clients, volunteers, contributors, donors, vendors, and guests.  


    Responsibilities:

    • Answer a multi-line phone system, greet and direct clients and guests appropriately
    • Interface with Boca Helping Hands’ CRM computer system
    • Learn and be able to communicate all program descriptions and requirements as well as the referral agencies
    • General filing and copying

    Requirements:

    • The front desk volunteer must have good customer relations skills, computer skills and be able to multi-task.  
    • A friendly, compassionate, and professional tone and actions are vital in this volunteer role. 
    • Commitment to a specific day(s) of each week is required. Monday through Friday from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm or from 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm.
  • Kitchen

    Crew Member

    Prepare food for the Hot Meal Program! Work with the team leaders to prepare meals and clean dishes, pots, pans, etc.


    Requirements:

    • Baseball cap/hair net and gloves must be worn at all times
    • Comfortable standing and moving for long periods of time
    • Teamwork, flexibility, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under time pressure
    • Basic knowledge of kitchen safety, food safety, and cooking
    • Commitment to a specific day(s) of each week is required. Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm.
  • Resource Center

    Resource Screener

    Conduct interviews with clients and gather documentation to respond to needs for financial assistance.


    Requirements:

    • Virtual interaction with clients
    • Comfortable sitting for long periods of time
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills needed
    • Using a computer for search and data entry (Special training for internal computer program will be given
    • The schedule is flexible but needs to be consistent. Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.


    Children's Assistance Program (CAP)

    Qualify and register clients for CAP. Conduct interviews with potential families, gather the required documentation and work with participating agencies.


    Requirements:

    • Virtual interaction with clients
    • Detail-oriented and meticulous when handling sensitive financial information
    • Adhere to CAP guidelines
    • Accurate and timely reporting
    • Willing to develop a strong working relationship with participating agencies (Special training for internal computer program will be given)
    • The schedule is flexible but needs to be consistent. Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.
  • Warehouse

    Meat and Produce Packers

    Prepare frozen bags of meat and fresh produce! Set up and fill bags. 


    Requirements:

    • Must be comfortable standing for long periods of time
    • Considerable mobility needed
    • Must be comfortable carrying large boxes from cooler/freezer to packing area
    • Commitment to a specific day(s) of each week is required. Monday through Saturday from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm or 1:00 pm 3:00 pm.


    Food Recovery Driver

    Pick up donated food! Drive to and from specific stores and restaurants (at specific times) to recover food and complete required paperwork.


    Requirements:

    • Must have a valid driver’s license
    • Must be comfortable driving BHH's van
    • Must be able to pass driving background check
    • 3 years of driving experience
    • Commitment to a specific day(s) of each week is required. Monday through Saturday from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm.


    Homebound Delivery Driver

    Deliver prepared meals to BHH clients who cannot leave their homes in the East Boca area. 


    Requirements:

    • Must have a valid driver’s license
    • Must be comfortable driving your own vehicle and providing gas
    • Must be able to pass background check
    • Must have valid car insurance
    • Must be comfortable interacting with clients
    • High mobility required
    • Commitment to a specific day(s) of each week is required. Monday through Saturday from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm.


    Pantry Bag Distribution Sorter & Stocker

    Fill pantry bags with canned and dry goods for BHH clients! Set up and fill grocery bags (250 bags per day) alongside a group of volunteers.


    Requirements:

    • Must be comfortable standing for long periods of time
    • Some mobility needed
    • Comfortable handling full grocery bags up to 5 lbs each
    • Commitment to a specific day(s) of each week is required. Monday through Saturday from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm or 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.


    Support

    Assist volunteers in the Warehouse! Categorize and mark out bar codes. Restock pantry items and/or fresh produce. Pack meal boxes for the schoolchildren's backpack program.

    • Some mobility needed
