The Boca Helping Hands Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers are excited to celebrate 25 years of service and community impact in Palm Beach County!

Since our founding as a modest soup kitchen, Boca Helping Hands has transformed into a multi-service agency assisting over 27,000 people annually with supplemental food, access to healthcare, emergency support for rent and utilities, and free job training.

As we celebrate this milestone birthday, we also recognize the generosity and support of partners like you! We are grateful for each member of the BHH family who has played a role in advancing our mission.

We invite you to follow us throughout the year as we remember our roots and look toward the future.

MAKE A GIFT IN HONOR OF OUR 25TH BIRTHDAY

Boca Helping Hands Est. 1998

A compassionate group of congregants from local churches and synagogues met to discuss starting a local soup kitchen, which began operating out of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in November 1998. In partnership with CROS Ministries and community volunteers, we served 36 people per day.

Opened Remillard Family Resource Center

In January 2010, Boca Helping Hands consolidated all operations through the new 15,000 sq.-ft. facility, a comprehensive resource center made possible due to the generosity of Arthur J. Remillard, Jr. as well as local businesses, nonprofits, and donors.

Acquired First Refrigerated Food Truck

The Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller of Florida, Inc. and Countess de Hoernle graciously donated BHH's first refrigerated truck, helping us to expand our food pantry program.

Opened Justin D. Webb Training Center

BHH opened a dedicated space to expand its Job Training Program, thanks to support from The Ruth and Hal Launders Charitable Trust and other community donors.

Opened Second Warehouse

Across the street from our main campus, BHH opened the Sun Capital Partners Foundation "Annex,"  which doubled our dry food storage space, tripled our cold storage, and has the capacity to double the overall number of families we serve.

Serving More People Than Ever

In 1998, we were serving fewer than 40 people per day in East Boca Raton.

25 years later, we are assisting over 27,000 clients a year in Palm Beach County, including:

  • Distributing 7,000+ pantry bags per month via 5 locations
  • Serving 6,500+ hot meals per month
  • Sending weekend meals home with 1,500+ kids at 13 local schools
  • Helping 200 clients prepare for new careers annually
  • Continuing to provide emergency financial assistance, childcare subsidies, and healthcare access through our Resource Center.
