Publix Store #1361 500,000 Pound Donation Celebration!

Jun-12-2017

James S. Gavrilos (Executive Director, Boca Helping Hands), Dr. Eric H. Shaw (Vice President of the Board, Boca Helping Hands), Marc Taubenkimel (Store Manager, Publix #1361), Nicole Krauss (Publix Media and Community Relations Manager) and Robert S. Weinroth (City Commissioner, Boca Raton)

Congratulations are in order! When Director of Food and Warehouse Operations Bill Harper placed a box of recovered food on the scale this morning, Publix #1361 Store Manager Marc Taubenkimel ripped the cord and a shower of green and white balloons came raining down. That’s because with that 51 pound donation, Publix at Garden Shops at Boca reached the momentous milestone of 500,000 pounds of donated food. When you consider the fact that 1.31 pounds of food equals a meal, that’s a staggering 381,679 meals that have been served in our Food Center and distributed in our pantry bags.

Everyone at Boca Helping Hands would like to extend our sincerest thanks to Publix, and specifically Publix Store #1361, for our years of partnership.
