Beginning this fall, Boca Helping Hands is providing weekend meals to eleven local schools in Palm Beach County for the 2021-2022 academic year. With the help of committed volunteers, we're able to feed 1,300 schoolchildren each weekend. BHH purchases the food, and each child receives six meals and three snacks in a box to take home on Friday afternoons.
A signature BHH program since 2010, BHH Backpacks has served more than 12,000 students since its inception. Last year, Boca Helping Hands received the School District of Palm Beach County’s Gold Award in the Not-for-Profit Business Partner category, recognizing the impact our program is making on its schools and the community.
We want to thank the Boca Raton Community Church, First United Methodist Church, and the Junior League of Boca Raton (JLBR) for volunteering week after week to ensure these children are being fed over the weekend.
As a supporter of BHH Backpacks since the program began, the JLBR has been instrumental in helping us pack more than 1.5 million meals for kids. As they celebrate their 50th anniversary this year, we’re sending our congratulations - and a special thank you - to all the dedicated women in their organization!
