Distribution Coordinator

Description: The Distribution Coordinator is responsible for various satellite operations where pantry bag distribution takes place. The Distribution Coordinator will report directly to the Warehouse Manager. Outside of the distribution times this position becomes part of the Warehouse Support team.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities and duties of the Driver/Warehouse Support person include but are not limited to:


  • Supervise the West Delray pantry distribution on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons, the Lake Worth pantry distribution on Wednesday mornings, and the Boynton Beach pantry distribution on Wednesday afternoons including all volunteers that show up to serve each day. This will be anywhere between four and eight volunteers each day.
  • Ensure truck/van is properly loaded prior to each distribution.
  • Train volunteers on the pantry intake process using web-based software application on handheld tablets.
  • Ensure all required pantry distribution paperwork is legible and complete following each distribution.
  • Drive any of BHH’s fleet of trucks/vans to various food recovery partners and local restaurants and accept food donations.
  • Unload, process, and store the food donations at the BHH warehouse.
  • Drive to local schools and unload pallets of food for the BHH Backpack Program.
  • Drop off and pick up bins at various locations for food drives.
  • Ensure that each vehicle used is properly maintained by alerting the Senior Director of Operations when service lights are on or there are other indications of a malfunctioning vehicle.
  • Ensure that each vehicle used is thoroughly cleaned and gassed up at the close of business each day.
  • Assist with the stocking and smooth rotation of inventory in the warehouse.
  • Cleaning and light maintenance of premises, inside and out.


Qualifications:


  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record for three years.
  • Availability Monday through Saturday (7:30am - 4:00pm; Thursdays until 6:00pm) with occasional 6:30am starts to facilitate food recovery efforts.
  • Willingness to work occasional Sunday shifts to facilitate food recovery and/or special distribution efforts.
  • Must have the ability to safely drive a cargo van, and/or box trucks, manipulate a lift gate on all trucks and a pallet jack and/or stock picker.
  • Must be physically able to lift 50 pounds (i.e., boxes of product from local grocery stores), as well as load and unload pallets from either truck or van and store in appropriate area.
  • Possess a high level of compassionate customer service and attention to detail.
  • Possess the ability to find workable solutions to minor issues with client interactions and resolve conflicts in a professional and positive manner.
  • Ability to organize and supervise small groups of volunteers.
