The Electrical Apprenticeship Program will provide everything from hands-on training to theory-based learning to ensure students have the knowledge needed for a successful career as an electrician.
Boca Helping Hands partners with the ABC Institute to provide students with professional training in construction specialties. Through our scholarship program, qualified applicants will have their tuition paid and enrolled into ABC Institute's apprenticeship program, where they'll be connected with registered contractors throughout South Florida while learning the tools of the trade.
This program is accredited by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and approved by the Florida Department of Education and the US Department of Labor.

Requirements:
+ Are 18 years of age or older
+ Have a High School Diploma or GED (in English)
+ Have a valid driver’s license and Social Security Card
+ Provide the last 3 months of bank statements to establish financial need
+ Have strong English language skills
+ Have reliable transportation
+ IRS Tax Return for the last filing year for all adult members of the household
+ Pass Level 1 background screening check
Phase One: One week of Job Readiness taught virtually via Zoom. Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Phase Two: The four-year Electrical Apprenticeship program prepares students to learn Basic electrical theory, which includes the understanding of voltage, current, resistance, and power, DC, AC, and other fundamentals of electricity. Mathematics, wiring, load calculations, motors, and electrical controls. Familiarity with field and shop safety. Following the completion of a one-year student, each student will be paired with an apprentice and hired for the required on the job training hours in addition to school until completion of all four years. Ultimately achieving the necessary certifications to receive the electrical journeyman.
Phase Three: Program graduates will transition into their apprenticeship. They will also work with BHH Job Mentors to update/create resumes, practice mock interviews, and learn how to navigate employment sites for open positions.
Please note that all phases are mandatory for the successful completion of the program.
