Christine A. found our Home Health Aide Job Training Program while searching for a career path that was “a little more stable that paid more." Inspired to enroll after the loss of her mother - who she had taken care of at the end of life - Christine received her HHA certification in February and started a new job in early March caring for patients…just before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. She soon found herself struggling to get enough work hours, got behind on her bills, and for a time, was even living out of her car.
Fortunately, after hearing about her challenges during one of her regular check-ins with our staff, BHH learned of potential work with a local health agency. Christine contacted them and was soon hired, even receiving an advance to help with her situation. While she’s still working to get completely back on her feet, she feels she’s now "going in the right direction." She's secured a new place to live and "knows that it's going to be OK."
