Boca Helping Hands 2009 Newsletters

On the evening of August 24th, a fire broke out in the Assistance Center. What began in the assistance center quickly spread to the newly opened Job Mentoring Center. Computers, printers, desks were all destroyed. Files, letterhead, and brochures were damaged by smoke and water. Heavy insulation soaked with water had fallen from the ceiling blocking paths and making it impossible to retrieve files and office supplies. By the next morning, a thick layer of soot had settled over everything, and had somehow even worked its way into closed cabinets and drawers. Trying to search for anything salvageable was difficult, hazardous, and fruitless.
