HOME DEPOT'S KIDS WORKSHOP PROGRAM AT BHH 6-2-11

Boca Helping Hands is pleased to have had Home Depot’s participation at their Thursday Night Family Dinner on June 2, 2011.

Seven to eight Home Depot’s staff will volunteers helped the children that attended this Thursday Night Family Dinner, to construct a project kit, through their Kids Workshop program, donated by Home Depot. They chose a toolbox for each of the kids to make. This event taught the children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety. They will not only leave, Boca Helping Hands, with a sense of accomplishment but with kid-sized orange aprons, similar to The Home Depot associates and an achievement pin.

Boca Helping Hands serves a hot, nutritious lunch six days a week (Monday through Saturday) with our Family Night Dinner being served on Thursday Evenings (4:30pm-6:30pm). We typically have between 35 and 60 children present at these evening meals. We also distribute 1,000 Pantry Bags each month, containing perishable and non-perishable food items. In addition, Boca Helping Hands has a Job Mentor Program and a Resource Center that helps our clients who are struggling to pay basic bills.
