Community responds to need:

  • BocaHelps.com was formed to connect people who need help or want to help
  • Hospitality Helping Hands set up a drive-thru in Mizner Park to distribute free meals
  • Boca Helping Hands, the major food and resources agency constantly stepped in, now distributing 27,000 meals
  • “Boca took proactive measures to stop the spread, and it worked. We were first or the among first in the county to close retail, put in mask recommendations, put in safe at-home orders, and worked to get the county on board.”
  • “In addition to relaxing outdoor dining rules, we relaxed sign codes and promoted businesses.”

  • Boca Country Club acquisition: In October, city council accepted the donation of Boca Country Club as a new public golf course in lieu of eventually closing the municipal course sold for residential development.
  • “Real estate sales setting new records.”
  • “City provided additional help from our budget with no tax increase.”
  • “Companies coming to Boca and more eyeing us for corporate headquarters.”
  • “Record 30 named storms/hurricanes; none of them hit us.”
