Boca Helping Hands Needs Help to Provide More Thanksgiving Dinners Than Ever Before - 2,766 Families Have Registered for Free Thanksgiving Meal.

Boca Helping Hands is seeking help from the community for its 2020 Thanksgiving Box Brigade program, which provides turkeys and a box filled with everything a family needs to prepare a holiday meal. 2,766 families in need have registered for a box, 766 more families than last year. Members of the community can donate the cost of a box, $27.20, at https://bocahelpinghands.org/TBBDonation.

Boca Helping Hands normally distributes 2,000 turkeys and Thanksgiving meal boxes. This year, having expanded to four locations and with the additional families that have registered for food assistance due to COVID-19, the organization needs help fulfilling all the requests.

“We are so grateful to the community each year for their Thanksgiving box donations,” said Executive Director Greg Hazle. “Their generosity means that people who would not otherwise be able to sit down for a holiday meal can enjoy one with their family.”

This year, Boca Helping Hands will distribute Thanksgiving boxes to current clients at all four of its food distribution locations. There will be 1,696 families receiving meals at the main facility in east Boca Raton, 224 families at the West Boca location, 641 families at the Boynton Beach location, and 205 at the Lantana location.

The Saturday before Thanksgiving (Nov. 21), a drive-thru distribution will take place at the West Boca and Lantana locations. The Sunday before Thanksgiving (Nov. 22), drive-thru distribution will happen at Boca Helping Hands main East Boca location and its Boynton Beach location.
