Valentine’s Notes, Flowers and Chocolates - To Feed the Soul of Boca Helping Hands Clients

Boca Helping Hands (BHH) will distribute handwritten notes, flowers, and chocolates for Valentine’s Day to 600 clients between its four locations.  The Valentine’s mementos will be shared with BHH Pantry Bag Program clients as they drive-thru to pick up their food on Friday, Feb. 12 in East Boca Raton and Boynton Beach, as well as its Lantana and West Boca locations on Saturday, Feb. 13.

“COVID-19 has caused losses not only in the lives, health, and livelihoods of our neighbors but also in our sense of community. So while our emphasis during the pandemic has been helping to feed those in need, this Valentine’s Day we wanted to help to feed the souls of those who may be isolated from their loved ones, with kind notes, beautiful flowers, and sweet treats,” Greg Hazle, Executive Director of Boca Helping Hands said. “We hope it sends the message that our community cares for them.”

Boca Helping Hands will collect uplifting and encouraging notes through a submission form on the organization’s website. The submission form is at https://bocahelpinghands.org/vday. The public is invited to submit Valentine’s notes.

During the week leading up to Valentine’s Day, volunteer groups will handwrite the notes that were submitted and attach the notes to the flowers. Volunteers from the following organizations have already signed up to participate during that week’s preparations for the Valentine’s Day tribute.
