Trina Chin Cheong

Director of Career Development & Financial Assistance

Trina came to the United States in 2010 after 15 years of experience in finance and investment banking in her native Trinidad and the United Kingdom. Upon moving to Florida, Trina became involved in the nonprofit world, bringing corporate expertise to the work of the heart. She joined Boca Helping Hands (BHH) in 2014 after being moved by the mission of the organization and the community they serve.

In her current role as Director of Training & Career Development, Trina has built on her foundation at BHH and works to enhance, expand and bolster the efforts of the Financial Resource Center, Job Training and Job Mentoring Programs. With a focus on fostering community connections with local businesses and its professionals, she ensures that BHH targets growing fields and trades/skills in high demand. In addition, Trina recognizes the critical role that her team plays throughout the 3-phase process. Therefore, she utilizes both a thorough and hands-on approach to ensure that each student has a successful and positive outcome from the Job Training Program.

In her previous position at BHH, as the Director of Programs, Trina developed new Health & Wellness and Professional Development initiatives. She spent years working in tandem with Genesis Community Health and their Community Outreach Programs, and is a member of their Board of Directors. Through her role, she was also an instrumental component in implementing Boca Helping Hands’ 2020 Strategic Plan.

My goal is to make a difference in someone’s life every day by being the change I wish to see in the world.
