Volunteer Spotlight: Neil Bauch

Neil Bauch, a longtime member of Advent Lantana (now Proclaim Church), jumped at the opportunity to volunteer when BHH expanded its Pantry Bag Program to serve the Lake Worth area.

After 30 years of owning and solely operating a vending machine company, Neil retired early in 2019 and settled in Boynton Beach. Now, he revels in spending time close to home at BHH, assisting in any way he can.

Neil started volunteering during the height of the pandemic in the spring of 2020. The incredible demand for services in his community amazed him. Neil quickly became a regular Saturday morning volunteer, arriving early and leaving late.

He has continued volunteering for the past three years, now working shifts on Fridays and Saturdays. When Neil heard that BHH’s Hot Meal Program was expanding to Lake Worth on Friday nights, he jumped at the opportunity to help. Now, Neil can be found at the East Boca kitchen preparing food for Friday night hot meals during the day, transporting the food, and serving those in need of a nutritious meal.

Neil finds his work with BHH to be filled with love and humanity and extremely rewarding.  He has made special connections with our clients and is fulfilled by “the little things,” like talking to them, making them smile, and seeing their appreciation.
