For more than five years, Barbara has filled many different volunteer roles at BHH. Currently stationed in the kitchen, she volunteers alongside her son Michael three days a week, including preparing the salads for our Hot Meal Program lunches.
Having been involved with many nonprofit organizations throughout her life, Barbara considers herself a professional volunteer. She takes inspiration from her mother who was big on volunteering and follows in her footsteps through their shared commitment to philanthropy.
She says, "When you volunteer, you do so because you're giving a part of yourself to that [organization's] mission."
In addition to her committed volunteerism, she and her husband Dan plan on leaving a legacy gift to BHH's endowment fund, helping to ensure the sustainability of our mission and programs for many more years to come.
