For more than five years, Bob and Anita Kriensky have supported Boca Helping Hands and its mission.
After Anita's successful career in interior design and Bob's accomplishments as a real estate developer, they decided to retire and relocate from Los Angeles to Boca Raton in 2015.
Once settled in their new home, Anita was eager to give back and started volunteering at BHH in early 2016. Since then, she has filled many volunteer roles within our hunger relief program. Currently assisting with our food distribution in East Boca, she helps fill boxes with perishable items, which are then loaded into client vehicles.
Bob joined our volunteer team at the beginning of this year and has become an asset in the warehouse. Currently volunteering twice a week, he supports our Pantry Bag Program by organizing and sorting food and stocking warehouse shelves.
They both feel grateful to work alongside other dedicated volunteers. Anita said, "I really love the camaraderie and the friendships we've made." Bob added that in retirement, working with people is one of the things he missed the most and said, "The other volunteers I work with are great people, and I feel inspired by them and the work that's done on behalf of the community."
Having been influenced by their parents and the value of charity and giving back, they feel a commitment to philanthropy and are grateful to give both of their time and resources.
In addition to being committed volunteers, they are also faithful contributors. Recently, Bob and Anita sponsored our Boynton Beach Thanksgiving Box Brigade distribution, where they also served as volunteers. Their efforts contributed to helping feed nearly 3,000 families for the holiday.
Anita says they feel compelled to help the community because "no adult or child should go to bed hungry. If we can make a dent in that insecurity, that's important to us."
The Krienskys are proud residents of Boca Raton and hope to make this place they call home “a little bit better."
