Since the first pantry bag distribution in Boynton Beach in 2017, June Freedman has been an integral member of the BHH volunteer team.
Freedman is originally from New York and raised her family in New Jersey. She relocated to South Florida in the 90s and worked as an interior designer in Boynton Beach and Port St. Lucie. Since retiring in 2006, she's moved back to Boynton Beach and enjoys being close to her daughter. In addition, she is involved in her community through various activities.
She originally started volunteering at our main facility in East Boca Raton, but when BHH was looking to fill volunteer spots at a new satellite distribution location, she stepped up to help.
In her current volunteer role, she helps to check in clients to receive their pantry bags of groceries in Boynton Beach. She enjoys the camaraderie and says she works alongside a wonderful group of people who are warm and welcoming.
She feels fortunate and is inspired to volunteer because she realizes that anyone could be in a similar situation.
"Volunteering does me good, and it is a great feeling to be able to help," said Freedman.
