In April 2020, Kerry saw a newscast calling for volunteer support at Boca Helping Hands, an organization she's familiar with, having lived in Boca Raton for more than 30 years.
"When I saw [the newscast], I said to myself 'I'm healthy, available, and want to do what I can,' so that's how it started," she said.
Kerry works with her husband and son in real estate while also volunteering weekly in our food center. She's recently been appointed Team Lead and is responsible for preparing meals for distribution to homebound, walk-up, and drive-thru clients.
"We all want to do what's best for Boca Helping Hands, and it takes a village," she said. "I'm just a piece of sand, and all together, we make the beach."
Kerry comes from a family that's big on volunteering and admires their commitment to philanthropy. She's taken inspiration from people in her life and followed in their footsteps as she makes a positive impact through her work at BHH.
"We live in this great town, but we have people who have a need, and it could be any of us on any given day," she said. "You never know what's going to happen, so while I can, I'm going to give back to this great community we live in."
