BHH Warehouse Opens Its Doors

Since acquiring our first warehouse more than ten years ago, Boca Helping Hands has seen a 10-15% annual increase in the demand for our Pantry Bag Program.

1599 Warehouse

Even before the pandemic, this growth was straining the limits of our storage capacity, becoming a bottleneck in our ability to continue expanding food distribution. Further stretching our "maximum capacity" during COVID-19 demand, we regularly had to store overflow perishable food in one or more of our refrigerated trucks overnight to keep it from spoiling before it could be given out the next day.

That's why we were so excited to open our new 4,437-square-foot food storage warehouse in May. Located across the street from our main facility, this new space will enable us to double our capacity to feed the community over the next ten years. With enough room to store approximately 26 pallets of fresh and frozen food, as well as 12 pallets of dry goods, our overall food storage footprint is doubling, and our capacity for fresh and frozen food is tripling.
