Job Training Success Story: Tramaine D.

January 11, 2023

After working as a fleet mechanic for nine years, Tramaine D. decided it was time for a change. Tramaine wanted the opportunity to travel while also utilizing his knowledge of automotive mechanics - and with the help of Boca Helping Hands, he received the support and guidance to find an option suited for just that.

Tramaine completed training through BHH’s Job Readiness program and the Metropolitan Trucking and Technical Institute CDL School in 2021. Since then, he’s purchased a semi-truck and has been trucking throughout the country and Canada.

“I’m always trying to maximize my earning potential,” he says. Tramaine is currently opening an LLC for his own trucking company, where he would own a fleet of trucks. He also looks forward to returning to school to further his education, with plans to study diesel mechanics to benefit his future company.

Finding Boca Helping Hands’ job training program was "a dream come true." Humbled and inspired by his experience with BHH, Tramaine hopes to open a nonprofit of his own one day, mentoring young children. “When I look back on life, I want to be able to say I put a dent in the universe.”
