Volunteer Spotlight: Gabby Rizza

January 11, 2023

Originally from Jamaica, Gabby and her family moved to Boca Raton when she was 7, where she enrolled in the prestigious A.D. Henderson School at FAU.

Gabby first learned of Boca Helping Hands when she needed to complete the final hours of her community service requirement at FAU High School. After completing her hours, she's continued to volunteer with client registration and pantry bag distribution because of her relationships with clients and the gratification it brings her.

“I was so focused on school and had so little free time that when my schedule opened up, I wanted to fill it by doing something community centered that I cared about.”

Through the FAU High School's dual enrollment/dual degree program, she is currently on track to earn her Bachelor's in physics and biology and graduate from high school by Summer 2023.

While she hopes to one day work either in a hospital, at NASA, or on airplanes, she also plans to continue giving back to the community and hopes to stay involved with BHH.
