An Empty Nester Ready for a New Path

Stacey

Before the pandemic, Stacey S. managed a fitness center for over six years. On Aug. 6, her employer called to say, "Don't come in tomorrow"; they were shutting down for good. A side cleaning business of hers also fell through since "no one wanted you in their homes during COVID."

A new empty nester, Stacey was ready for a different path. A friend recommended becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and Stacey learned she qualified for our Job Training Program, which she began back in October. After passing her licensing exam in February, Stacey secured a job as an in-home caregiver for a private client and has leads for additional work. She's considering continuing on to become a registered nurse and hopes to "pay it forward" by volunteering at our Lantana pantry bag distribution site, where she received groceries while getting back on her feet.
