Linda moved from New York in late 2018 and began volunteering at our West Boca pantry bag distribution site in February of 2019.  She says, "Having been only two months in Florida, it was a great way of meeting like minded people who feel the way I do about volunteering and helping others."

Linda initially started on our set up team, helping us unload the truck and making sure pantry bags were ready for distribution. Since then, she's transitioned to the client intake team, where she registers and checks-in Pantry Bag Program clients. She says, "I love when I walk by and I recognize them and they recognize me. There's a sense of continuity."

Additionally, Linda also volunteers on Tuesdays for our ESOL Conversation Café where she chats with participants helping them practice their English speaking and listening skills. She says that being in a teaching role has been a new and fun learning experience.

When asked about what inspires her to volunteer, she said, "In my heart it makes me more aware, appreciative, grateful and a better person."
