Volunteer Spotlight: Tracy E.

April 24, 2022

Tracy E. is originally from Long Island, New York, but moved to South Florida after 9/11 to be closer to family.

Her professional career was as a labor and employment law attorney, but after relocating, she retired to raise her fantastic kids, Matthew, Sam, Hayden, and Ronen. They have all volunteered at Boca Helping Hands throughout the years!

Six years ago, a close friend and a BHH volunteer recommended Tracy join her to serve as a distraction from her son's illness. She started at our Boynton Beach satellite location, helping to check in and register Pantry Bag Program clients before switching to our West Boca location.

"Volunteering and caring for others in the community was the most fulfilling distraction I could have asked for," she said. "Even now that my son is healthy, I continue to volunteer every week."

The camaraderie she shares with her fellow volunteers is special, and she adds that "they are wonderful people who want to help others. I respect them and enjoy working with them."

In addition, she loves that she can share this experience with her husband and children. "I am so proud to see my sons get the same fulfillment from volunteering and community service that I do!"

Thank you to Tracy and her lovely family for their unwavering support of our mission and community!
