Led by Joi Canton, Community Outreach Manager at Baptist Health South Florida, our students engaged in mock interviews and received resume tips and job search best practices.
Students had the opportunity to ask questions about a typical interview process, listened to other student feedback, and refined their interview skills to land a job.
Canton is very passionate about this initiative because she knows, from first-hand experience interviewing individuals, that perfecting the interview is crucial.
"Sometimes this is their first job and when they come into [the interview], they may not know what to say, how to sit, or what to do," Canton said. "It can affect them landing the position despite being the best candidate."
CNA Graduate Karoline S., who is currently on the job hunt, felt this experience would positively impact her confidence in an interview setting.
"As a mother of two, I've been out of the workforce for four years, and this will help me with how to proceed in an interview and improve my resume,” she said. “Overall, it was beneficial.”
Joi Canton also leads our monthly Health and Wellness classes through our longtime partner, Boca Raton Regional Hospital, which operates as part of Baptist Health South Florida.
